Privacy policy
The short answer
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. That involves cookies and an anonymous identifier. Your games are different: every move is worked out in your browser, and no game, move or position is ever sent to a server.

Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google. It is used to see how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they are and what kind of device they are using. That is the whole reason it is here: to know which pages are worth improving.
To do that, Google Analytics:
- Sets cookies in your browser. These hold a randomly generated identifier so that repeat visits from the same browser can be recognised as the same visitor. They do not contain your name or your email address.
- Records your IP address. Google uses it to work out an approximate location, at roughly city level, and does not expose the address itself in the reports this site can see.
- Records the page you are on, the page you came from and basic device details. Browser, screen size, operating system, that sort of thing.
- Sends that data to Google. Google processes it on this site's behalf and under its own terms.
No advertising features, remarketing audiences or Google Signals are switched on. The reports are read as totals and trends, not as individual visitors. No analytics data is sold, and none is shared with anyone else.
Your games stay on your device
The board, the rules and the computer opponent all run as code inside your browser. There is no game server. When you place a disc, your browser works out what flips; when the computer replies, your browser does the search that chooses the move.
As a result, your moves, your positions, your results and your settings are never transmitted anywhere. There is no game history stored on any server, because there is no server that could store one.
The one exception is entirely under your control: the Copy link button puts the current position into a web address so that you can share it. Nothing is sent until you choose to send that link to somebody.
What is stored in your browser
Two small pieces of data are saved in your browser's local storage. Neither is sent to this site or to anyone else. Both stay on your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser's settings.

Blocking local storage does not break anything. The site falls back to its defaults and forgets your preferences between visits.
What this site does not do
- There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password.
- There is no newsletter and no mailing list.
- There are no advertising or remarketing scripts.
- There are no social media buttons, embeds or tracking pixels.
- There are no comments and no user-submitted content.
- Nothing is loaded from another host except Google Analytics. Fonts, styles, images and scripts are all served from this site.
- No personal data is sold or shared, and none is used for advertising.
If you would rather not be counted
Analytics is easy to turn off from your side, and doing so has no effect on the game, which runs the same either way.
- Use your browser's tracking protection or an ad and tracker blocking extension. Google Analytics is blocked by all the common ones.
- Install Google's own Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings.
Children
This site is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There is nowhere on the site to enter a name, an email address or any other personal detail.
Your rights
Because there are no accounts and no submitted data, this site holds no personal records to look up, correct or delete. Analytics data is held by Google under its own privacy terms, and requests about that data are best made to Google directly. Changes
If what is collected changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. There is no version history kept, so the page always describes the site as it is now.
